About Nancy Lacuesta
Nancy Lacuesta used her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business
Administration from the Chaminade University of Honolulu, Hawaii, to forge a
17-year career in the field of accounting. She resides in Paia, the last town on
the Hana Highway on Maui’s northern coast. Most recently, Ms. Lacuesta served
one of the island’s premier hotels and resorts, the Maui Prince Hotel (now the
Makena Beach & Golf Resort). Nancy Lacuesta worked as a Staff Accountant at
the world-class operation, which made Travel + Leisure’s 2010 World’s Best list
in the Top 15 Resorts to Visit category as well as the 2011 list of the World’s
500 Best Hotels. At the resort, Ms. Lacuesta took responsibility for generating
daily revenue reports for upper management; supervised a general cashier, an
accounts receivable clerk, and an income auditor; and handled general ledger and
bank reconciliation tasks.
Nancy Lacuesta also served the Oahu Country Club, located in Honolulu, from
1993 until 2000 and then again from 2003 to 2007. Nancy Lacuesta was fortunate
to work for this beautiful venue, which features views of the mountains and
ocean, an 18-hole private golf course, and a host of other amenities. She
started at the club as a front-office staffer and returned as an Accountant, a
role in which she provided billing statements to in excess of 1,000 members,
balanced the daily audit work, posted reports she created to the general ledger,
and interfaced with all levels of clients with a professional and gracious
demeanor.
As an Accounting Supervisor at Mana Kai Maui, located in Kihei, Nancy
Lacuesta received valuable experience in her field through managing the entire
accounting department. As Senior Accountant for the Kahului-based Maui Land
& Pineapple Company, Inc., she sent out water and rental billings for the
property management company and also managed the accounts receivable from a
variety of companies. Nancy Lacuesta possesses in-depth experience with the
Microsoft computer programs Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access. She also
remains well versed in managing billing inquiries and accounts as well as
performing all general accounting procedures.
When Nancy Lacuesta indulges in her personal pursuits, she will often choose
a physical activity such as hiking in the natural beauty of Hawaii or riding her
bike for exercise. In addition, she enjoys hanging out at the beach in what
remains one of the world’s most perfect settings.
